Description
Participants will be provided with an overview of how grief affects an individual, especially youth, and how clinicians can create an environment that allows healthy expression of grief.
Objectives
- Define grief and the four stages of mourning
- Discuss the timeline of social support and emotional distress during the grieving process
- Describe how to create a supportive for youth to discuss their grief in a healthy way
Guest Speaker
Matt Bunt, M.Ed., LPC has served as the Education and Events Coordinator for the Amelia Center in Birmingham for more than five years. He provides training and grief counseling for children, adolescents, and adults. Matt holds a Master of Education in Marriage and Family Therapy and is a Licensed Professional Counselor.
