Seminar Description
By utilizing real-life case presentations, participants will be able to identify reasons for parents’ behavior that can lead to negative reactions in their teens as well as three underlying motives that affect parents’ communication with their teens. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss concrete strategies for parents and teens to communicate more effectively, thus reducing conflict, and explore ways in which they can help guide their clients to make more appropriate responses.

Gaye Vance, Ph.D.
Dr. Gaye Vance is a licensed clinical psychologist with 25 years experience working with individuals and families. She graduated with Honors from Florida Southern College and later earned her Doctorate at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. As of 1997, she is the owner and founder of Shelby Psychological Services in Pelham.
