This workshop will provide an overview of current neurobiological theories, treatment strategies, and trending research on bipolar disorder and addictions.

Seminar Description
Participants will be able to identify areas of the brain involved with specific symptoms of mania, depression, and addiction and to describe the difference between types of bipolar disease, depression, and addiction. The latest trends in brain based research will be discussed and participants will be able to transition the knowledge learned into useful tools for client education as well to identify specific treatment strategies for each disorder to be used with clients.

Vicki Adaway, MS, APRN, CNS
Mrs. Adaway is a Certified Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist with her own private practice in Pell City. She received her Master’s in nursing from Georgia State University. Additionally, she is a Certified Life Coach. She has over 15 years experience in working with individuals affected by addiction and mental illness.
